Why KNOW Was Never Just About Clothing

Why KNOW Was Never Just About Clothing

When I look back now, I can see that KNOW was never just about clothing.

It came from everything I had been carrying.

The grief.
The anxiety.
The overwhelm.
The pressure.
The feeling of losing parts of myself and trying to find my way back.

As I started to understand myself more, I also started to understand how much the small things mattered. And clothing was one of them.

That might sound superficial to some people, but when you are not feeling like yourself, when your body feels different, your mind feels busy, and life feels heavy, what you put on your body matters.

It affects how you feel.

For years, I had been thinking about clothing, especially leggings. I couldn’t find a pair that really worked for the reality of my life. I wanted a black legging that felt like a true staple. Something supportive, flattering, soft, practical, and reliable. Something that felt good the moment I put it on and stayed feeling good all day.

I didn’t want leggings that rolled down, sagged, showed sweat patches, or constantly needed pulling back into place. I didn’t want something that looked good for five minutes and then became irritating as soon as real life started.

I wanted leggings that moved with me, supported me where I needed it, and still looked good.

I wanted one pair that could take me from the school run to work, from a dog walk to the gym, from errands to home life, from feeling flat to at least feeling a bit more pulled together.

Because the truth is, most days did not look polished.

Most days were not a clean gym routine, a slow morning, or a perfectly planned schedule.

Most days looked like real life.

Kids.
Work.
Dogs.
Errands.
Housework.
Appointments.
Shopping.
Trying to fit everything in.
Trying to hold everything together.

And I needed clothing that worked for that kind of life.

I wanted support around my stomach without feeling restricted. High-waisted, but not digging in. Soft, but still sculpting. Flattering, but practical. Comfortable enough for all-day wear, but still able to perform if I did get to the gym or out for a walk.

I wanted them to feel fresh, stay in place, and make me feel more like myself, even on the days when life felt anything but.

And that became important to me because I realised this was about more than leggings.

It was about support.

It was about ease.

It was about comfort, confidence, and feeling held in some small way when life felt heavy.

That is where the idea behind KNOW really began to deepen.

Because KNOW is not just about what something looks like from the outside. It is about how it makes you feel. It is about creating pieces that work with real life and support real women through all the different versions of their day.

Women who are juggling a lot.
Women who are carrying a lot.
Women who are trying to find their way back to themselves.
Women who need their clothes to work harder for them, not create another problem.

At some point, I stopped thinking about what I wished I could find and started thinking about what I wanted to create.

That process has been incredibly personal.

It has involved talking to manufacturers, sketching ideas, refining details, choosing fabrics, testing samples, changing things, trying again, and wearing prototypes properly in real life.

And I really do mean real life.

I have worn them on dog walks, while doing housework, at the gym, cleaning out guinea pigs, gardening, shopping, travelling, and on play dates. I have worn them on full days, messy days, active days, and days where I never made it to the gym at all.

That mattered to me because I was not creating clothing for some ideal version of life.

I was creating it for the life I know.

And that is what makes this brand personal.

The Signature Legging was never just about activewear. It was about creating something that helps women feel supported, comfortable, confident, and more like themselves in the middle of real life.

That is why clothing became part of my story.

Because when you have spent time feeling disconnected from yourself, the things that help you feel grounded again matter.

And sometimes that starts with something as simple as putting on a piece of clothing that feels right.

That supports you.

That moves with you.

That does not ask anything more from you.

That reminds you, in some quiet way, that you are still there.

That is what I want KNOW to be.

Not just something you wear.

Something you feel.

Something that supports you through real life.

Something that helps you come back to yourself.

Because this was never just about leggings.

It was about creating something with meaning.

Something built from lived experience.

Something real.

Because KNOW was never just something to wear. It was something to feel.
